Fall and Winter Home Maintenance Checklist

Today marks the first day of fall and with the start of this season comes the inevitable cold weather. Fall and winter can bring severe snow storms, below freezing temperatures and strain on your house. Before the icy temperatures hit, make sure your home is prepared for the long chilly months.  
Kiplinger’s Personal Finance offers fifteen steps, most of which you can do yourself, which will lower your utility bills and protect your investment during the cold weather. Some steps include:
·         Tune up your heating system.
·         Caulk around windows and doors.
·         Clean the gutters.
·         Turn off exterior faucets.
