In the spring of 1992, we established the first Bariatric Treatment Center in Addison, Michigan. It was here we developed our protocol for gastric bypass surgery. From day one our approach was unique. Our vision called for a complete long-term patient care program that would extend far beyond the surgery itself. 18 years and one name-change later, that vision has generated thousands of personal success stories. And Barix Clinics now offers its industry-leading state-of-the-art bariatric program in Michigan, Ohio and Pennsylvania.

Our program is designed around a simple principle, but one that’s increasingly ignored by most medical institutions: We put you, our patient, first. That’s what motivates us to meet your individual challenges and needs at every stage of the process. And to give you the respect, dignity, and personal attention you deserve.

This patient-focused approach requires an equally focused, dedicated team of professionals . Extensively trained specialists who are committed to the best possible patient care before, during, and after weight loss surgery.

We’re proud to say that the every Barix staff member consistently and enthusiastically meets this high standard of quality care.

We’re proud of what we’ve achieved over the years in the field of bariatric surgery. And each of our centers has received the highly-acclaimed Joint Commission's Gold Seal of Approval. But for us, the greatest seal of approval is the collective smile of more than 40,000 Barix patients who have successfully achieved their long-term weight loss goals.
