How to Save Big on All Baby Items

Having a baby isn’t the cheapest thing in the world.  You’re going to have to purchase all the start up items such as cribs, clothing, as well as other things for the next couple years such as diapers, wipes, and more.  This can really be a pain on your budget, but if you know how to spend right, you can get some killer deals out there!

Consider resale shops for clothing – Let’s face it, when the baby is under a year old, how often are they going to wear their clothes?  I don’t get the people that head out and spend $25 on a 3 month year old outfit that is only going to be worn twice!  Head on over to your local Goodwill or Salvation Army to find clothing for under a $1 and you’re going to find that many of the clothes there are going to be slightly used.
Buy your coupons online – If you’re going to purchase a lot of baby items, I would recommend that you scour out some coupons online for places such as Babies R Us.  I can’t tell you how many times I had found 20% off coupons online that I could use.  These saved me tons of money.
Check out Craigslist / Garage Sales – Craigslist, as well as garage sales are a great place to find everything at a cheap price.  Whether you want a newer toy or a book, you’re going to get it all for a very low price.  The only thing that I would never recommend that you purchase used is a car seat or anything edible such as formula and food.  Yes, I’ve seen formula and baby food at garage sales!

Buy off brand – Many people don’t know this but your store brand formula is another brand just under a different label.  Since all formula has to be FDA approved, you will be assured that the formula that you buy will be fine.  Store brand formula can save you tons!  For example, my local grocery store sells their brand for $12.  The name brand is going to cost you $25.  You do the math on that one!

Consider diapers in bulk – Every time you set out to purchase diapers, see where you can get the best deals.  I have found that many online baby stores will give me great deals for first time customers.  Take advantage of these diapers.  Again, purchase your coupons, find coupon codes, and see how much you can save on your purchase.  Places such as Costco and Sam’s Club can save you a ton too.
I’ve found that purchasing just about everything used is the name of the game and the Internet makes it a great place to find tons of savings.  Implement these tips and let’s hope that you can save a ton of money with your baby!
