Once school is out for summer, our children are more excited than ever. They get the chance to sleep in a little longer, play with their friends, and spend some time with the family. Children are very easily entertained which is a great thing! Since they are easily entertained, we most likely don’t have to spend a dime for them to have a good time.

Instead, our children can enjoy the summer doing a ton of fee activities. These will keep them busy, enjoying their summer vacation and keep them out of trouble. Need some ideas? Continue reading below!

Swim/sprinklers: When it’s hot outside, there is nothing more refreshing than water. Take your kids to the beach to swim, or perhaps turn on the sprinklers so they can run around. Playing in the water is always fun to children!

Bonfire: Have a bonfire with your family. This is a great way to talk, have fun and to keep your children entertained. Between a nice warm fire, and some great snacks being made, your children are guaranteed to have fun!

Sports: Play your favorite sports with your children. Spend a day at the park or in your yard throwing a baseball, shooting some baskets or kicking a soccer ball around. This is a great way to stay active and having fun for free.

Camping: Children love the outdoors. Set up a tent in your backyard so they can play and sleep out there, or better yet, go camping as a family. This is a great way to spend some quality time while enjoying a nice summer night.

Library: Teaching your children that reading is fun is important. Get some books they’re interested in, let them rent a movie for free or let them play on the computers for a little bit. It is good to associate the library with something that is fun rather than boring.

There are several fun activities you and your children can do for either a very low price or for free! Use your creativity, enjoy the nice weather outside and don’t spend a penny doing it!
