What's the risk?

Most people kids meet online are fine. Some are predators. The greatest risk is that a predator will develop a relationship with a child (called "grooming") and the child will go to meet this person they believe is their "friend."
Our Nationwide Poll showed:

  • Half of teens 13-18 have communicated online with someone they have never met.

  • One third have talked about meeting in person someone they only know online.

  • One in 10 have learned that someone communicating with them online was an adult pretending to be much younger.
